Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured people of North Eastern states that Government will take the development to a new height.
Addressing party workers at party headquarters in New Delhi after declaration of poll results in Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya, Mr Modi expressed happiness that the North East has today come forward to lead India on the path to development.
He said, in Vastu Shastra, it is said that Northeast of a house is at the Centre and things are organised keeping Northeast in mind. He said, similarly, the Northeast region will lead the country’s development journey. Mr Modi said, the Sun is red at the time of sunset and turns saffron when it rises.
The Prime Minister said, to win or lose in elections are a part of democracy and it is the beauty of democracy. He said, one must accept their defeat with a sporting spirit. Hitting out at left parties for spreading fear, violence and illusion, Mr Modi said, people of Tripura have given a befitting reply by defeating them through ballots.
He said, many BJP workers have sacrificed their lives for party's ideology. Mr Modi said, when the opposition parties can not fight to the face they stooped down to such a low that in Kerala, West Bengal and Karnataka, over two dozen BJP workers were murdered. He asked the parties to accept people's mandate and not to indulge in vendetta politics.
Mr Modi said, Northeast people always felt that Delhi is far away from them, but BJP has brought Delhi to their doorsteps. The Prime Minister said, Congress party has shrunk to its lowest ever size ever. He said, there is a lesson to be learnt from it for other political parties, especially the BJP. He asked BJP workers not to let Congress culture creep into the party. Mr Modi said, at one point in time, BJP did not have structured organisation on the ground in many parts of the country, but today, it has spread to every nook and corner of the country due to sheer hard work and dedication of millions of selfless party workers. Observing silence for a minute, he paid tribute to BJP workers who sacrificed their lives for party's ideology. Prime Minister Modi also lauded the Election Commission and Security Forces for their role in ensuring peaceful polling in the three states. Addressing party workers, BJP President Amit Shah termed party's victory in the North East as victory of politics of performance and development. He said, the party dedicates the victory to those party workers who sacrificed their lives for BJP's ideology.
Party leaders and Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Nitin Gadkari, Thawar Chand Gehlot were present on the occasion.
