Reds down Brumbies in Brisbane bore

    2018-03-02 12:45

Cape Town - In a forgettable Super Rugby clash highlighting the plight of Australian rugby, the Reds beat the Brumbies in Brisbane on Friday.

As it happened: Reds v Brumbies

The Reds won 18-10 after leading 6-5 at half-time.

The Reds, who were walloped 45-19 last weekend by the Rebels, were held tryless, but three penalties by scrumhalf James Tuttle and three more by flyhalf Jono Lance were enough to see them to victory.

The Brumbies, winners last weekend against the Sunwolves in Tokyo (32-25), replied with tries by scrumhalf Joe Powell and No 8 Isi Naisarani.

The Reds picked up four points for their victory, while the Brumbies left empty-handed.

In next weekend's Round 4 action, the Reds welcome the Bulls to Brisbane (Saturday, March 10 at 10:45 SA time), while the Brumbies travel to Melbourne to face the Rebels (Friday, March 9 at 10:45 SA time).
