
10 naxals were killed today in a joint operation by police forces of Telangana and Chhattisgarh in Pujari Kanker of Bijapur district.
The encounter took place in the wee hours of Friday.
One policeman has also been injured in the operation. The incident has been confirmed by DIG P Sunderrajan.
According to reports, a joint team of Telangana Police and Chhattisgarh Police was conducting combing operations in the border areas when the encounter occurred near Pujari Kankar.
A large amount of weapons and bodies of killed naxals have been recovered from the encounter site. However, the bodies are yet to be identified.
