The 63rd City Civil and Sessions Court, on Friday, will hear the bail plea of Mohammed Nalapad Haris, son of MLA N.A. Haris. Nalapad is accused of brutally assaulting Vidvat L.
The court, which heard the case earlier this week, had reserved the order for March 2. Nalapad and six other accused have been in judicial custody for a week now.
Special Public Prosecutor Shyam Sundar termed it an ‘anarchic act of the accused’, strongly arguing against granting bail to the accused.
Meanwhile, the doctor at Mallya Hospital, who is treating Vidvat, said that he had discharged the patient on Wednesday. However, he continues to remain in hospital.
“I discharged him on Wednesday and have written on his case sheet that he has to come for a follow-up next Wednesday. So, I did not see him on Thursday. It is left to the family to leave the hospital now,” said Anand K., consultant plastic surgeon who has been treating Vidvat since he was admitted on February 17. He said the patient has ‘recovered’ and is fit to go home.
On Monday, based on the all-okay from the hospital, police had arrived in the ward to take the statement of Vidvat. However, Vidvat reportedly told the police that he could not talk due to a shooting pain. Eventually, his statement was not taken.
