Around 300 people, including students from various colleges, attended an interactive session on “adolescent health programme” at the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research recently.
The programme held as part of Jipmer Health Education Initiative was attended by students from various colleges, anganwadi workers, Jipmer staff and public.
Key issues
The programme focussed on physical developments during adolescence, reproductive health and personal hygiene. the ill-effects of alcoholism and smoking were discussed.
Experts discussed ways to handle adolescent stress to reduce impulsive behaviour.
The session was telecast live to all medical colleges of South India under National Medical College Network project through the Jipmer Regional Resource Centre.
