The notch was perhaps the most controversial feature of the iPhone X. Many people had given a negative opinion on the notch, claiming that it was irritating to look at while others said that after a period of extended usage, the notch essentially disappeared from view. Not surprisingly a number of smartphone makers are trying to ape this design feature from the flagship Apple device with Asus ZenFone 5 and 5Z being the first to copy the design trend at MWC 2018.

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo was also rumoured to launch a device which imitated the notch from the iPhone X. Reports have confirmed that such a phone from Oppo is indeed coming and it is likely to be known as the Oppo R15. The picture teased on Weibo shows off the Oppo R15 with the notch and very thin bezels on the bottom. It could also be possible that the rear part of the phone will have dual-cameras aligned vertically like the iPhone X.

The teaser confirms that Oppo will launch the R15 and R15 Plus at the same time with the Plus version packing a larger screen. It also confirms that the company will first launch the devices in China. The company has not issued any official statement about the R15 and R15 Plus so we are not sure if Oppo will launch the devices in the Indian market. However, the design teaser with the notch has reaffirmed our belief that an increasing number of smartphone makers will come with the notch to match the Appl flagship.
