“If we are accused in criminal or civil cases law will take its own course. We are not worried that K.T. Rama Rao is talking with arrogance not knowing history of the Congress and the beginning of his father K. Chandrasekar Rao before entering politics,” said Leader of the Opposition Mohammed Ali Shabbir, in the Legislative Council.
Addressing a press conference, here on Thursday, he said when people agitated for Telangana, KTR was in the US and he was talking now ignoring the fact that it was the Congress and Sonia Gandhi who fulfilled the aspirations of Telangana people by carving out the separate State. “You (KTR) must know that your name itself contains half Andhra,” he said. Replying a question Mr. Shabbir advised Mr. K.T. Rama Rao know as to what happened in the case of Sahara Industries and ESI when Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao was Union Minister of Labour and Employment.
“Do not resort to mud slinging without learning your follies,” he said while not detailing the two “episodes”.
Claiming that there was an overwhelming response to the Congress bus yatra he said it was reminiscent of the one launched by Y.S. Rajashekar Reddy from Chevella in 2004. Going by the public reaction it seems the days were numbered for the TRS regime, he opined.
He said the bus yatra, would traverse in the district for two days. On the first day on March 4 it will cover Bodhan and Nizamabad urban and rural mandals. Public meetings would be held at two places. On the following day it would pass through Nandipet in Armoor constituency and Balkonda, he said adding that all senior leaders were expected to participate in it.
Accompanied by party leaders the former Minister earlier visited the DSA Grounds where the meeting would be held. Former Assembly Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy, former minister P. Sudarshan Reddy, MLC Akula Lalitha, former MLAs S. Gangaram and T. Arunatara, TPCC general secretaries B. Maheshkumar Goud and G. Gangadhar, secretary Narala Ratnakar and DCC president Taher Bin Hamdan were also present.
