Schoolboy commits suicide by hanging

A 17-year-old boy, studying in Class IX, was found hanging at his residence in Film Nagar of Banjara Hills here on Thursday.

The boy was identified as M. Shakti Hemanth, son of Anand Kumar, a cook working at a noted film producer’s house here. Anand is a native of Odisha and migrated to city nearly two decades ago, the police said.

The Banjara Hills police learned about the death from his family members, who claimed they last saw Hemanth at 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

The Police said the boy hanged himself from a ceiling fan around 9 a.m. “Exact reason is yet to be known and no suicide note was recovered,” the police said.
