Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 149,824 units in February 2018, growing 15.0 per cent over the same period of last fiscal. This includes 137,900 units in the domestic market and 11,924 units of exports. The Company had sold a total of 130,280 units in February 2017.
The company launched the Swift hatchback in India last month and bookings for the car had already started in January. The Maruti Suzuki Swift has received more than 60000 Bookings till date and the company has already started deliveries of the car. The sales in the compact segment saw a spike of almost 38.7 per cent compared to the same period last year. The segment includes cars like the Swift, Ignis, Celerio, Baleno and the Dzire. Sales in this segment crossed the 65000 mark.
The Mini Segment which has cars like the Alto and Wagon R did not see major growth but considering that the company has launched just new editions in this segment, it grew by 2.1 per cent
Sales of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz compact sedan took a hit with the company selling just 4897 units compared to 5886 in February 2017. The Ciaz de-grew by 16 per cent.
