Police have secured two more persons in connection with the murder of Senthilkumar of Anna Nagar, an assistant professor of a private engineering college, here on Monday last.
After Senthilkumar was murdered by an armed gang in a case of mistaken identity as the assailants’ actual target was the victim’s father-in-law Kumar alias ‘Kodiyankulam’ Kumar, two youth surrendered before the police on Monday night.
Three police teams were searching for seven more suspects, including advocate Balaganesan and doctor Balamurugan.
On Thursday, the police secured two more persons, D. Praveen (29) of North Thazhaiyoothu and M. Mottaisamy (25) of Old Pettai.
Meanwhile, members of Tirunelveli Bar Association commenced their court boycott protest on Thursday condemning citing of Balaganesan as an accused in the murder of Senthilkumar. Bar association sources said they would boycott court proceedings till March 5 (Monday) demanding withdrawal of the case registered against one of their colleagues.
If their demand was not met, the association would meet again on Monday to review the situation, they said.
