Class XII examinations commences in T.N.
Around 8.66 lakh candidates from 6,903 schools in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are writing their Class XII exams on Thursday, which began with the Language 1 paper. Additionally, 40,686 private candidates are also taking up the exams. The exam commenced at 10 a.m. and ends at 1.15 p.m. The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) announced on Tuesday that this year, 278 new centres have been added.

Jordanian King Abdullah II will deliver a special address at Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who met with King Abdullah in Amman earlier this month, will attend the function organised by the India Islamic Cultural Centre on March 1, where the Jordanian King will speak on “Islamic Heritage: promoting understanding and moderation”, to an audience that includes academics and Islamic scholars, as well as representatives of all denominations of the Muslim community.

New air strikes on the Syrian rebel enclave of Eastern Ghouta on Saturday took the civilian death toll from seven days of devastating bombardment to more than 500 after the United Nations again delayed a vote on a ceasefire. More than 120 children have been among the dead in the bombing campaign that the regime launched last Sunday on the enclave just outside Damascus, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
