Special ‘pink license camp’ for women held in MP

State Government is making constant efforts to provide security and facilitate help to women of the State. One of the efforts is availability of free driving license to women.

In this about 1,99, 528 learning license have been issued so far besides 1,38, 286 driving licenses. Special “Pink license camp” is being organised for women in which 12,579 licenses have been issued.

Helpline number 1091 has been made available for security of women. Helpline numbers have been displayed on passenger buses also. Apart from this, 11 to 16 no. seats have been reserved for women in buses. The seat behind the driver has been reserved for mothers who have to feed newborns. Permit conditions have instructions in this regard to provide three-sided curtains on this seat. Considering the security of girls in schools buses, besides a female driver, presence of a female employee or conductor has been made mandatory.

Instructions have been issued in this regard. Also this condition has been mentioned for the permit.

Departmental orders have been issued to install GPS/GPRS based tracking system and CCTV cameras in buses to provide security to women in transport services among other services. In this regard an amendment is under process in Madhya Pradesh Motor Vehicles Act.
