Jaguar I-Pace Arrives Delivering up to 240 Miles on a Single Charge
The 2019 Jaguar I-Pace has been officially introduced ahead of its public debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.
Set to arrive U.S. dealerships in the second half of 2018, the Jaguar I-Pace was originally unveiled as a concept vehicle in 2016. Less than two years later, it will be driving on roadways sporting a 90 kWh battery that will deliver an estimated range of up to 240 miles.
Performance for the all-electric crossover is impressive, delivering 394 horsepower and 512 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels, allowing it to accelerate to 60 mph from a standstill in as little as 4.5 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds), while top speed is limited to 124 mph (200 km/h). More importantly, Jaguar has delivered on the process of the I-Pace charging to 80 percent from empty in 40 minutes using 100 kW DC fast chargers.
At its launch, the 2019 Jaguar I-Pace will be available in three trim levels: S, SE, and HSE. An additional First Edition model will be available for the first year of production. No matter which trim level a buyer chooses, all-wheel drive is standard.

The I-Pace has a similar footprint to the Jaguar F-Pace, but features the interior space of a larger vehicle. It rides on a 117.7-inch wheelbase, while the overall vehicle measures 184.3 inches. The British automaker said it put the I-Pace into production virtually unchanged from the Concept, transforming electric vehicle design. The exterior design takes inspiration from the Jaguar C-X75 Concept, incorporating design elements such as sweeping front fenders, integral hood scoop, cab-forward driving position, dramatic curves, muscular haunches, and a striking waistline.
Helping achieve a drag coefficient of just 0.29Cd is a low hood, sweeping roofline, and squared-off rear end. Up front, the grille helps channel airflow through the hood scoop and over the windshield. Airflow for battery cooling and the climate control system also passes through the grille and active vanes in the front bumper apertures, which open when required.
Inside, the I-Pace offers 40.9 inches of front legroom and 35 inches of rear legroom, and since there’s no transmission tunnel, there’s room for a 0.43-cubic feet compartment in the center console. There are trays built underneath the rear seats that provide storage for tablets and laptops, while the rear luggage compartment boasts capacity of 25.3 cubic feet. When folding the seats flat, that increases to 51 cubic feet.
The 2019 Jaguar I-Pace will come with software-over-the-air wireless updates, and an eight-year, 100,000-mile warranty. U.S. Pricing will be announced when it makes its public debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show on March 6, but eager customers can begin placing orders today.
