DGP rewards jawans for anti-Maoist ops

| | DALTONGANJ | in Ranchi

There could be no better  Holi merry-making than the visit of DGP DK Pandey at Kuhkuh Kalan picket here in Palamu on Wednesday where he gave a big pat and ‘thank you’ to his 25 officers and 40 jawans who made the Maoists lick their wounds.

DGP D K Pandey reached Kuhkuh Kalan picket and gave away Rs 23 lakhs cash among his 25 officers and 40 jawans. These brave hearts were given certificate of commendation by DGP.

Sources said it was a big Thank You ceremony to officers and jawans by DGP just a day ahead of Holi which falls on March 2.

Pandey said, “The morale of our security forces is high. The Maoists are too down and running away. Days are not far off when they will have no space to hide their heads. They are beaten up amidst rocks and jungles. It will be too good for them to come and surrender and the state government will take care of them’.

“ Stop fighting & surrender otherwise they will soon run out of life,” he again warned the Maoists.

The reward cum thank you function was held in the backdrop of the Malanga Pahar encounter with Maoists where the Maoists lost 4 cadres , two weapons and their Madhy Zone came crumbling like a pack of cards.

DGP was accompanied by ADG Anurag Gupta, Sanjay Latekar IG CRPF, Jayant Pal DIG CRPF, Vipul Shukla DIG Palamu, Indrajeet Mahatha SP Palamu and Commandant 134 battalion of CRPF S K Linda.

Cash and certificate come pouring here as this encounter at Malanga Pahar is the death knell for the Maoists since its Madhya Zone is almost razed to the ground. Three cadres of the Maoists Vimal Dipak etc are now left and these too will be soon neutralized.. Sources said Maoists capability of regrouping or reconsolidation has grown too weaker in the past one or two years since this outfit has lost heads that ruled it most. Sources said DGP Pandey’s main thrust is to restrict and control the influx of extremists from Bihar in Jharkhand as Jharkhand has too porous border with Bihar where even a footpath can be a passage of entry exit of Bihar based extremists in Jharkhand.
