Man kills wife in front of her father

A man killed his ailing wife in front of his father-in-law who was there to take away his daughter with him on Tuesday night at Balmiki Nagar coming under Kabir Nagar Police Station jurisdiction.

Station House Officer (SHO) Kabir Nagar, Ambika Prasad informed that over a petty dispute for going with father one Akbar alias Manoj Sharma strangulated his wife Shakila Bano to death.

Father of Shakila, Salim aged 75, had gone to his son-in-law’s house in order to take along with him his daughter Shakila for better treatment. Akbar got irritated over that and while abusing his father-in- law started beating him, he informed.

Shakila came in between and objected thrashing of his father , Prasad said.

The Police official further informed that when Shakila expressed her desire that she too wants to go with his father, Akbar lost his temper and threw Shakila on bed and started strangulating her.

 Due to her screams, neighbours reached their home to rescue Shakila but all in vain. She who was already weak due to illness, died on the spot due to strangulation, police said. Neighbours held the accused till the police arrived.

On report of father-in-law of the accused, police later registered a case and sent the body for post mortem. After producing the accused before the court on Wednesday he was taken into police remand.
