Inter exams begin on a peaceful note

54,623 of 56,064 students appear on day 1

First year Intermediate examinations began on a peaceful note without any untoward incidents, here on Wednesday.

Of the 56,064 students, who registered to write the examination, 54,623 students appeared for the exam on the first day, according to Regional Inspection Officer, Intermediate Board, T. Nagesh Kumar.

About 1,441 students abstained from writing the examination, he said.

The second year examination will begin from Thursday and about 53,741 students, including 26,995 boys and 26,746 girls, are likely to appear for the exams in the district.

The examination will be held at 103 centres in the district, said Mr. Nagesh.
