SCB medicos call off stir
The striking doctors of the SCB Medical College Hospital here on Wednesday called off their strike boycotting their duties continuously for 10 days.
The decision to call off the strike was taken at the general body meeting of the Junior Doctors’ Association (JDA) on Wednesday afternoon, a day after the State Government transferred tainted Urology Department head Dr Datteswar Hota from here to the MKCG Medical College in Brahmapur.
"Upon the government's acceptance of our long-standing demand to transfer Hota from here, we decided to call off the strike and resumed or duties from Wednesday evening," informed JDA general secretary Phanindra Kumar Swain.
He said other doctors, who had boycotted their duties in support of our demand, have also resumed their duties forthwith.
