| | BRAHMAPUR | in Bhubaneswar

The Indoor departments of the MKCG Medical College Hospital (MKCGMCH) would be shifted to the new building in the hospital premises during the first week of March.

A decision to this effect was taken at the Swasthya Bikas Samiti meeting of the MKCGMCH held here on Tuesday. It was revealed at the meeting that many buildings have been constructed as many existing structures of the premier hospital have been dilapidated and declared unsafe.

The meeting held under chairmanship of Samiti Chairman and RDC T Aapanga Aao also discussed about various other issues, including supply of safe drinking water. Departmental officers presented updates about implementation of programmes decided in the previous meeting of the Samiti.

It was revealed that though the Trauma Care Centre has resumed operation, yet it has not been able to provide adequate services due to lack of doctors and staffs. It was decided that the BMC would be entrusted the responsibility of maintaining sanitation in the hospital premises and the Central ICU would have four beds for heart patients. District Collector Prem Chandra Choudhury stressed that doctors prescribe medicines available under the ‘Niramaya’ programme and send patients to ‘Nidaan’ Centres for free health tests.

Among others, MP Sidhanta Mohapatra, MLA Dr RC Chyaupatnaik, MKCG College Chairman Dr Radhamadhab Tripathi, Medical Superintendent Dr Charan Panda and Deputy Collector Dr Sidhartha Sankar Swain were present.
