Forest Minister honours 9 retired forest officials

Forest Minister Gaurishankar Shejwar on Wednesday honoured nine retired forest officers for outstanding contribution in forest, wildlife conservation and promotion in State. The Forest Minister presented shawl and shriphal to these 80-year plus former officers. The Minister honoured these officials for their exemplary work in forest sector at a workshop organized to give guidance to ongoing forest officials.

Among the officials honoured include JJ Dutta, RC Saxena, PM Rajwade, VM Palsule, SR Rawat, PS Dave, DL Jain, Senapati Joshi and RK Kapuria. Shejwar said that these officials have set an example not only in the state and the country but in the international forestry sector also. He told to utilize the benefits of experiences of retired officials in making the strategy of forestry management. He said that a change had come over forestry management also. The Department has been working on bamboo-plantation and wildlife management. Now Eco-tourism and Bamboo Mission is working separately on this.

Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Khandekar laid stress on encouraging tree plantation in the private sector also apart from afforestation. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force Animesh Shukla told that according to the demand of time the Forest Department is implementing the works of forest development, wildlife management and forest conservation effectively.

The Forest Minister released a book “Nadi Sanrakshan ka Anushthan-Narmada Kachhar Mein Ropan Abhiyan” on the occasion. A film based on the innovations in forestry sector in the present scenario was also screened on the occasion.
