In Madhya Pradesh, Congress has won both Mungawali and Kolaras assembly by-elections.
Its candidate Brajendra Singh Yadav defeated his nearest BJP rival Bai Sahib Yadav by a margin of over two thousand votes in Mungawali.
Congress candidate Mahendra Singh Yadav defeated his nearest rival BJP candidate Devendra Jain by around 8 thousand votes in Kolaras.
In Odisha, the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has won the Bijepur Assembly by-poll.
BJD candidate Rita Sahu, wife of late Congress MLA Subal Sahu defeated BJP’s Ashok Panigrahi by a margin of 41,933 votes.
The by-polls in both the states, held on 24th February, were necessitated due to the death of Congress MLAs.
