One earlier project was funded by the US State Dept.

Ambassador of the United States of America to India Kenneth I. Juster visited the Qutb Shahi Tombs Complex on Wednesday.

The Ambassador, along with the officials from the Aga Khan Trust for Culture and government of Telangana’s Department of Archaeology and Museums, went around the tombs complex to see the restoration work being carried out there.

Department of Archaeology Director N.R. Visalatchy and AKTC Project Director Ratish Nanda briefed the Ambassador on the project and the restoration being carried out.

In 2014, the project received a grant from the U.S. Department of State’s Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation to carry out excavation work on the site, which concluded in 2016.
