The State Government has taken a stern measures against highhandedness of private schools to enhance fee frequently. The State Government has enforced a new Act from February 22. The State has provided great relief to the parents of school students.
Under the new Act the private school can only enhance fee by 10 per cent in a year. Beyond it from 10 to 15 per cent fee hike the private school has to obtain approval from the district committee headed by District Education Officer.
In the case of fee rise beyond 15 per cent the school management has to take permission and approval from the State Committee headed by the Commissioner of Public Instruction.
If any school violates the Act it will have to refund the enhanced fee and will fined Rs.2 lakh in repeating such offence the fine will be of Rs.4 lakh and recognition of the school will be revoked.
