India will continue its commitment to enhanced economic and development partnership with Afghanistan.
The External Affairs Ministry in a statement on Wednesday said that Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale during his meetings with the Afghan leadership and Statement at the Kabul Process, conveyed Indian support for the efforts of the people and Afghanistan government to build a peaceful, stable, secure and prosperous nation free from the shadow of terrorism.
Mr Gokhale conveyed that New Delhi welcomed the Afghan Government's call to armed groups to cease violence and join national peace and reconciliation process.
He called on Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and handed over a letter to him from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He also called on Afghan's Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani and Deputy Foreign Minister Hekmat Karzai.
