The city chapter of Young Indians (Yi) organised its ninth annual session on empowering youth for sustainable development on Wednesday.

Managing director of Maharshi Academy K.V.T. Ramesh was appointed chapter chair of Yi Visakhapatnam unit for 2018-19. CEO of Vignan Group of Educational Institutions Pavan Kosaraju will be the chapter co-chair.

Speaking at the meeting, GVMC Commissioner M. Hari Narayanan spoke on what sustainable development meant from environmental point of view. He suggested creating awareness on resourceful use of water.

Chairman of Varun Group V. Prabhu Kishore mentioned that to sustain, one had to work towards achieving one’s goals with more focus.

Among others, Jacob Joy, national chairman, Yi, D. Tirupati Raju, zonal chairman, CII, Poonam Shah Srinath, Yi regional chair (Southern Region), Deepak M. Menda, city chapter chair, spoke.
