17,483 students appear for Inter exam in Khammam

As many as 17,483 Intermediate first year students appeared for second language paper-I examination at 50 centres across the district on the first day of Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) 2018 on Wednesday.

Around 761 students were absent, sources said.

The examination was held amid tight security as the police have imposed Prohibitory Orders under Section 144 of the Cr.PC in and around the designated examination centres all over the district.

The District Intermediate Education Officer, R. Bhaskar, inspected several examination centres, including the one at Shanthinagar college here.

In Bhadradri-Kothagudem district, Superintendent of Police Ambar Kishor Jha and Kothagudem DSP S.M. Ali visited the examination centres at Singareni Collieries Women’s Degree College and another at a State-run college. They monitored the arrangements made at the centres.

The sources said a student, who arrived late by a few minutes at Government Junior College in the coal town, was not allowed to write the exam.

NIZAMABAD Special Correspondent adds: Of the total of 19,620 students registered for IPE-2018, 17,930 appeared on Wednesday.

DEO D. Oddenna, RDO Vinodkumar and special squads went round the centres inspecting them. On the first day, the exam went off peacefully.
