Toyota India Registers Close To 5 Per Cent Total Growth In February 2017

Toyota's domestic sales went up by about 3 per cent with 11,864 units, against the 11,543 units sold in February 2017 in India. Exports, on the other hand, saw a substantial growth of almost 48 per cent at 841 units, compared to the 570 units exported in February 2017.

Toyota India sold 12,705 units in February 2018, registers a total growth of 4.88 per cent

Toyota Kirloskar Motors today announced registering about 4.88 per cent growth in total sales with 12,705 units in February 2018, against the 12,113 units sold during the same month last year. The company show similar performance in the domestic market as well by selling 11,864 units compared to the 11,543 units sold in February 2017, registering a growth of 3 per cent. Exports, on the other hand, saw a massive surge of close to 48 per cent, with the company exporting 841 units of the Etios range, against the 570 units exported during the same time last fiscal year.

Commenting on the sales performance, N. Raja, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, "We are happy that we have been able to sustain the positive growth trend registering a 3% growth in February. We have started the year 2018 on a positive note with a cumulative growth of 11% in the first two months of Jan -Feb 2018."

The company had quite a decent line-up at the Auto Expo 2018 and the star attraction of the event was the new 2018 Toyota Yaris sedan. Set to go on sale in India on May 2018, the car will rival the likes of the new-gen Hyundai Verna, Honda City and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. Talking about the company's expectation from the Yaris and other products, Raja said, "Toyota unveiled its world-class sedan, Toyota Yaris with 12 first in segment features at Auto Expo recently. It is a pleasure to see the positive attention and interest it has generated already amongst Indian customers. With the launch of the product in May 2018, we hope to boost our sales momentum. We will further strengthen focus on our segment-leading products Fortuner, Innova Crysta and Corolla with better operational efficiency."

The company has recently introduced the new 2018 Toyota Etios Platinum Limited Edition model to its line-up, with prices starting at ₹ 7.84 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The official launch announcement is still awaited from Toyota, which we expect to happen in the next few days.
