Select edible oils up on fresh millers' buying

Select edible prices rose by Rs 50 per at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on emergence of buying by vanspati millers amid a firm trend overseas. Linseed in the non-edible section, also traded higher on pick up in demand from consuming industries. Traders said fresh buying by vanaspati millers and a firm trend overseas, mainly led to rise in select edible prices. Globally, the benchmark palm contract for May delivery was up 0.1 percent at 2,542 ringgit (USD 650.79) a tonne on the Exchange. In the edible section, palmolein (RBD) and palmolei(Kandla) oils rose by Rs 50 each to Rs 6,500 and Rs 6,550 per respectively. Soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Kandla) also traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 7,800 and Rs 7,400 per quintal, respectively.
