Food grain production in the country is estimated to touch a record high of over 277 million tonnes, with individual crops like rice, maize, and pulses set to grow to record high levels as well.
On the other hand, wheat production for FY18 is expected to come in at 97.11 million tonnes, lower than the record 98.5 million tonnes seen last year. Industry estimates don't see wheat production crossing 95 million tonnes.
When it comes to oilseed production, the government has released an aggregate estimate of 22.9 million tonnes but the breakup of that number is not clear. The industry is estimating mustard production at less than 7 million tonnes for the year.
