Chinarajappa vows to root out corruption at all levels

ACB personnel asked to go after errant officials

Deputy Chief Minister N. Chinarajappa, who also holds the Home portfolio, on Tuesday said that those indulging in corruption, including public representatives, would not be spared. He asked ACB personnel to warn corrupt officials and take action if they did not mend their ways.

Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) office which was constructed at a cost of ₹95 lakh here, Mr. Chinarajappa said that ACB court was already sanctioned to Rajamahendravaram and the High Court had to clear the file sent by the State government. He said of the 50 high-tech police stations sanctioned by the government, 20 had been already completed. Reddy Subrahmanyam, Vice-Chairman, Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council, said that the TDP government’s aim is to give corruption-free governance.

Toll-free number

R.P. Thakur, Director General of ACB said that the government had allotted ₹16 crore for construction of ACB offices in all the 13 districts. Construction of six offices had already been completed and the rest would be ready soon.

He said the response to the toll-free number 1100 was good and asked people to use this facility without hesitation. The identity of the complainant would be kept secret, he added.

Rajamahendravaram MP M. Muralimohan, MLCs Ramu Suryarao, Adireddy Apparao, ACB Director Sankhabratha Bagchi, SP B. Rajakumari, Sub-Collector C.M. Saikantha Varma, ACB DSPs M. Sudhakar and V. Gopalakrishna along with Municipal Commissioner V. Vijayaramaraju participated in the meeting.
