Farooq leads NC delegation to meet JK Guv

A 10-member delegation led by National Conference president Farooq Abdullah today called on Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra here and sought his intervention in addressing various issues pertaining to the people living in the far-flung areas of the state. Abdullah, accompanied by NC provisional president Devender Singh Rana and leaders from Nowshera, Sunderbani and Kalakote constituencies of Rajouri district, flagged the delay in setting up administrative units, which were sanctioned by the previous government in 2014, officials said. "It was complained that the government has so far been taking the position in the state Assembly that new administrative units will be set up when the required funds become available," the spokesperson said. In this context, the delegation demanded that the geographically difficult and relatively underdeveloped areas of Nowshera, Kalakote and Sunderbani sub-divisions call for much greater attention, the official said.
