The King of Jordan Abdullah-II bin Al-Hussein arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday evening on a three day visit to India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi received him at the airport. The King is accompanied by a business delegation. He will visit IIT Delhi on Wednesday to explore collaboration with Jordan technical institutes.
During the day, he will also participate in a CEO Round-table followed by India-Jordan Business Forum. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will call on the visiting dignitary.
AIR correspondent reports, the Jordanian King's visit comes nearly three weeks after Prime Minister Narendra Modi travelled to Jordan as part of his trip to West Asia, including Palestine.
During this visit, India and Jordan will discuss the entire gamut of bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.
In a tweet Mr Modi said, Jordanian King visit will further deepen bilateral ties and he look forward to talks with him on Thursday.
The ways to deal with terrorism, radicalisation and extremism are likely to figure prominently in the deliberations.
After the talks, the two sides are expected to sign MoUs and agreements in diverse areas of bilateral cooperation.
The King is known for his global initiative to fight radicalisation and terrorism.
