CS 'assault': Delhi officers, employees 'March for Dignity'

As a mark of protest against the alleged attack on Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash by two Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislators, top Delhi government bureaucrats and its employees took out a "March for Dignity" here on Wednesday.

The march, led by the Chief Secretary, started from the Delhi Secretariat and ended at Raj Ghat, which saw participation by around 800-900 officers and employees holding candles in their hands.

Last week, the Chief Secretary alleged that he was beaten up by AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan and another party MLA in the presence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at the Chief Minister's residence here on February 19 night, where he had been called for a meeting.

Speaking to reporters after the march, the Government Employees Joint Forum reiterated their demand of a "written public apology" from the Chief Minister.

The forum said that they would continue to not attend meetings or talk to ministers over phone and that they would contact ministers and MLAs only through the written channel till Kejriwal tenders a "written public apology".
