As many as 26,857 students in both the Erode and Gobichettipalayam Educational districts will appear for the Plus-Two examinations that begins on Thursday. Also, 24,900 students will appear for the Plus-One examinations that begin on March 7.
District Collector S. Prabhakar said that 87 chief supervisors, 87 officers, 1,622 hall supervisors, 40 teachers to write examinations for dyslexia students and 172 static and flying squad members were appointed for the smooth conduct of the examinations.
A total of 39 examination centres in Erode Educational District and 48 centres in Gobichettipalayam Educational District were kept ready with basic facilities for the students.
Of this, nine centres are newly created centres. Students from 89 government schools, two Adi Dravidar Welfare Schools, five model schools, six municipal schools, 17 government aided schools, 20 self-financing schools and 77 matriculation students will appear for the examinations.
A total of 6,093 boys and 5,488 girls in Erode and 7,061 boys and 6,610 girls in Gobichettipalayam educational districts will appear for their Plus-Two examinations from March 1 to April 6. Also, 1,003 private candidates in Erode and 602 private candidates in Gobichettipalayam will appear for the examinations.
In Plus-One examinations, a total of 6,213 boys and 5,535 girls in Erode and 6,830 boys and 6,252 girls in Gobichettipalayam educational districts will appear for the examinations apart from 70 private candidates. The Collector said that drinking water, toilet facilities and other basic amenities were created in the centres and the electricity board was asked to provide uninterrupted power supply during the examination hours.
