Farooq chairs meet on Srinagar airport

Lok Sabha MP and National Conference president today took stock of various issues related to airport at a meeting held here, a party said. Abdullah, who is the of the airport's advisory committee, discussed about late-night flight operations and operation of international flights from the airport. He took note about passenger amenities, widening of the approach road to the airport and land acquisition for the same, the NC said in a statement. The meeting was attended by senior officers of the Airports Authority of India, the state administration, Indian Air Force, CRPF, J&K police, as well as the representatives of various and officials of the airlines operating from the airport, the said. The former also took note of the formal naming of the airport as and the preponing of the Modernisation of (MAFI) project, he said. Abdullah issued orders for the release of Rs 35 lakh from his MPLAD funds for the acquisition of a state-of-the art, fully-equipped ambulance for the airport, he added.
