The Delhi High Court today sought response of the Centre and the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on a plea filed by the residents of Commonwealth Games village here seeking basic amenities in the complex. Justice V K Rao issued notice to the Urban Development Ministry, the DDA and real estate major EmaarMGF on the plea of the residents who alleged that there was lack of basic social infrastructure in the complex, including medical supplies and sought their response within four weeks. The intervention application filed by the residents in an ongoing dispute between DDA and Emaar sought basic amenities and facilities in the area be made available for the residents. Senior advocate Aman Sinha, appearing for CWG residents association, argued that the apartment owners are the real stake holders in the project and they cannot be denied of basic social infrastructure because of ongoing dispute between Emaar and DDA. He argued that after nearly seven years the CWG village does not have essential shops, not even for medical supplies, daily sustenance needs due to the alleged dispute. Bhushan Narula, president of CWGAOA, said that a solution must be calibrated through the cooperation of all concerned so that the residents do not have to face hardships due to the absence of essential shops as medical services and daily supplies in the complex.
