NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index was trading 0.50 per cent up at 329 around 10:40 am (IST) on Wednesday, backed by gains in the index heavyweight DLF which climbed over 2 per cent.

Shares of DLF caught investors' attention after it emerged as the highest bidder for a land parcel put by Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) spread over 11.76 acres in Gurgaon for a record Rs 1,496 crore.

Shares of Housing Development & Infrastructure (up 1.29 per cent), Oberoi Realty (up 0.93 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects (up 0.85 per cent) and Sobha (up 0.57 per cent) were also trading with gains.

However, Delta Corp (down 1.09 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate (down 0.82 per cent), Phoenix Mills (down 0.78 per cent), Unitech (down 0.70 per cent) and Godrej Properties (down 0.39 per cent) were in the red in the NIfty Realty index.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 51 points down at 10,504, while the BSE Sensex was 150 points down at 34,197.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Cipla, Infosys, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories and UPL were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack of stocks, while Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, ICICI Bank, YES Bank, Hindalco Industries and Vedanta were among the top losers.
