Next-Gen Toyota Auris Could Preview a New Corolla iM
Toyota has released a teaser image for the third-generation Auris hatchback.
In case you’re not familiar with the Auris nameplate, the model is sold in the U.S. as the Corolla iM. The hatchback was originally offered as a Scion model, but Toyota absorbed it into its lineup when the automaker decided to kill off the Scion brand. The new Auris will make its world premiere at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, alongside a race car concept that previews the new Toyota Supra.

So far Toyota has said the new Auris will feature a more dynamic exterior design, and a brand new 2.0-liter full hybrid powertrain joining the engine lineup. The current Auris offers a 1.8-liter hybrid powertrain that isn’t available in North America, so it’s unclear whether the new powertrain will head stateside. That is, if Toyota even chooses to keep the Corolla iM in its lineup.
