Police suspect that he was assaulted by his friends

A 28-year-old man was allegedly bludgeoned to death by his friends, at Peenya on Sunday night, after a fight amongst themselves.

The victim, Santosh, a resident of Doddabidara, works as a cab driver. He was having a drink with at least three of his friends in Andanappa Layout in Suvarna Nagar on Sunday. It is suspected that an argument broke out. Peenya police suspect that Santosh was assaulted by his friends who smashed a boulder on his head.

The body was found on Monday morning.

On the basis of CCTV footage in the area as well as statements of those who had seen the group last, police have detained two suspects. However, they have not been arrested.

Biker hits stationary truck, dies

A 25-year-old man lost his life after ramming into a stationary truck at Garvebhavipalya on Bommanahalli road late on Sunday.

The victim, Prabhakar Shetty, works in a software company, said the Madiwala traffic police who have filed a case. He was headed from his workplace to a friend’s house when he failed to notice a truck that had broken down and was parked by the side of the road. The impact left him with severe injuries and he died on the way to a hospital.

Police said he was from Mangaluru and was staying in Hosapalya.
