Voting for Meghalaya Assembly started at Wednesday morning following heavy safety with more than 18 lakh voters polling at 3000 stations setup in Meghalaya.

On Tuesday, polling will be conducted for 59 seats in East Garo Hills district. Several people have been casting their votes at polling stations since Tuesday morning.
The voting will last till 4 am across Meghalaya. As per the reports, over 106 firms of central armed police forces (CAPF), state armed personnel and police have been positioned in Garo Hills region.
He added that 6 extra organizations of CAPF were enforced in East and South Garo Hills districts.
Tuesday’s voting will settle on the destiny of 361 candidates involving 31 women, 80 individualists.
The Border Security Force has also been directed to take care of the situation along 443 km-long India-Bangladesh border, reports stated.
As per the reports, the outcomes of Meghalaya and Tripura assembly voting will be out on March 3.
