For the summer placements of the class of 2019, MICA saw increased interest from FMCG players with 33 per cent more recruiters from the segment making offers to the students for the internships. Also, MICA registered 3.5 times increase in the international offers from the multinational players.
For a two-month summer internships, the students from the premiere media and communications institute, MICA saw stipends averaging at Rs 60,200 for domestic, while for the international assignments the average stipend hovered around Rs 90,300.
A total of 177 students appeared for the recently-concluded internship placements before the 66 recruiters. Total 54 students opted for internships with FMCG and fast moving consumer durables, retail and manufacturing players, which included top brands such as Nivea skin cream maker Beiersdorf, L’Oreal, Amul, RedBull, Bajaj, Wallmart, Future Group among others.
“There is an appreciable growth in all the important indicators, right from the number of participating companies to stipends given to students. Internships have been concluded across a wide spectrum of industry segments, given MICA’s leadership in strategic marketing and communication management, as an Institute. International internship opportunities have also continued this year,” said Vaneet Chhibber, associate director, marketing & external affairs, MICA.
The summer internship placements saw 25 per cent in crease in highest stipend, which stood at Rs 2,00,000 for domestic and Rs 1,30,000 for international assignments. The average stipend also increased by about 15 per cent, MICA noted.
