Finance ministry directs PSBs to probe NPAs above Rs 50 crore

<br/>After Nirav Modi, Vijay Mallya and Vikram Kothari, the ministry of finance has now asked Public Sector Banks to examine all NPAs over Rs 50 crores. Once bitten twice shy, the ministry has asked banks to examine NPAs above Rs 50 crores and report the fraud to CBI. The direction comes amid state-owned lender PNB reporting Rs 12,700 crore fraud through alleged fraudulent misuse of letters of undertaking (LoUs) by billionaire jeweller Nirav Modi and associates.
