Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Monday declared establishment of a university to promote entrepreneurship and National Centre of Excellence for Startups at Amaravati.
CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee made the announcements at the CII Partnership Summit which concluded here in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Union Ministers Suresh Prabhu and P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju. He said the CoE would function in Vijayawada shortly till the premises got ready at Amaravati. Fintech would also be developed in partnership with Singapore.
Visitor centre
An MoU exchange between CII and Singapore Business Federation was made to set up jointly the Singapore A.P. Business Council. The council will work towards promoting trade, technical and economic cooperation between A.P. and Singapore for mutual benefit of the business sectors.
The Singapore Consortiumplans to set up a visitor centre and exhibition gallery at Amaravati Capital City Start-up Area.
The Singapore Consortium was appointed through a Swiss Challenge process as master developer of the start-up area which is spread over 684 hectares within the Guntur-Krishna districts along Krishna River. The project is envisaged as part of a larger catalytic development and will include a visitor centre and exhibition gallery that would span 4,000 square metres of gross floor area.
