PANAJI: In line with the current trend of global hotel chains tying up with local partners, Accor Hotels on Tuesday announced a partnership with Alcon Victor Group to launch a new resort, Novotel Goa Dona Sylvia Resort, Cavelossim.
The resort is Accor Hotels fourth property in the Goa market and indicates the group’s growing presence in the Indian hospitality industry. Speaking of the partnership, director of Alcon Victor group Varun Albuquerque, said that through the rebranding of the property we look forward to offering an international standard product to our guests.
Albuquerque also paid tribute to the acumen and craftsmanship of the late Charles Correa who had originally conceptualised and designed the resort. He said, “Dona Sylvia Resort has always resonated with old-world charm and new-world luxury, creating an authentic Goan ambience along with its perfect location on the beach.”
Chief operating officer of India and South Asia, Accor Hotels, Jean-Michel Cassé, said, “We are delighted to partner with the Alcon Victor Group and look forward to bringing our expertise in hospitality to this relationship.”

Accor Hotels in India operates nine hotel brands with over 8,500 rooms spread across 46 properties in 22 key destinations. Sofitel, Fairmont, Pullman, Swissôtel, Grand Mercure as well as the popular Novotel are some of the brands. Besides, the group also operates midscale and boutique brands along with economy brands including Ibis, Ibis Styles, etc.
