The Xiaomi Mi TV 4 will be available for purchase at Rs 39,999 at online retailer Flipkart and on mi.com, which is Xiaomi India's official website in India.
Last we heard, Xiaomi managed to sell off its entire stock of smart TVs in just 10 seconds. While the company has just to reveal any numbers, the times do sound believable considering how much the value-packed product from Xiaomi is selling for.
The Mi TV 4 was launched in India on 14 February alongside the launch of Xiaomi's budget smartphones the Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi Note 5 Pro.
One of the highlights about this product is that the body of the TV, is only 4.9 mm thick which would add to its show value, if nothing else. The TV 4 features a frameless design and comes in one screen size at 55-inches. The TV sports a 4K resolution display and is also capable of displaying 4K HDR content.
Inside the Mi TV 4 is a quad-core 64-bit Amlogic SoC with a Mali T830 GPU. The Mi TV 4 also features 2 GB RAM and 8 GB of internal storage for storing apps and content. The TV also adds plenty of ports with three HDMI (1 ARC) ports and two USB ports (2.0 + 3.0).
Other connectivity options include, Wi-Fi (802.11ac) and Bluetooth 4.0.
Also in the package is the Mi Remote, that helps with navigating Xiaomi's very own 'PatchWall OS".
Xiaomi will offer up to 5,00,000 hours of content in 15 Indian languages via its PatchWall interface and will also provide personalised recommendations to users.
The Chinese brand has also partnered with electronic program guide makers which enables it to seamlessly switch between the smart TV mode and regular set-top box TV mode. The TV also packs in Dolby Audio and dts HD capabilities.
