New DIG of Tiruchi Range takes charge

R. Lalitha Lakshmi assumed charge as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Tiruchi Range, here on Monday. She succeeds DIG Bhavaneeswari, who has been transferred and posted to Coastal Security Group, Chennai.

Ms. Lalitha Lakshmi was earlier Superintendent of Police, Economic Offences Wing, at Chennai and was promoted as Deputy Inspector General of Police and posted to Tiruchi Range.

She had earlier served as Superintendent of Police, Tiruchi, from 2011 to 2013 before moving to Chennai as Assistant Inspector General (Law and Order).

Her earlier stints include Superintendent of Police, Vigilance and Anti Corruption, West Zone, and Superintendent of Police, Tamil Nadu Police Academy, Chennai. The Tiruchi Range consists of Tiruchi, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Pudukottai and Karur districts.
