He jumped out of vehicle after being threatened, alleges kin

The Gautam Budh Nagar police on Monday registered an FIR against four officers in connection with the death of a 35-year-old man who jumped off a police vehicle while being taken to the police station and was run over by a truck. The personnel have been charged for murder.

The victim’s family members have alleged that he had been threatened with arrest and he had jumped out of the vehicle out of fear.

On Sunday, the police picked up Bobby and Kuldeep from Jahangirpur for allegedly selling illicit liquor.

“While taking the accused to the police station, Bobby jumped from the police van and was run over by a truck. He succumbed to his injuries,” said Suniti, Superintendent Of Police (Rural).
