Dubai: Sridevi’s death interrogation comes to an end. Sridevi’s body flown out of Dubai at IST 7.00 pm; death case formally closed in Dubai, according to a report in Firstpost. According to India Today, members of the Kapoor family, including Sonam, Anil, Jhanvi and Khushi Kapoor have reached the airport. Anil Ambani, whose Embraer aircraft is flying the mortal remains of the actress, has also reached the airport. The plane is expected to touch down shortly and the body would be taken to Boney Kapoor’s residence.

The Kapoor family has now released an official statement.

The condolence meeting for actor Sridevi is to be held on Wednesday at the Celebrations Club at Garden no.5, Andheri West, Mumbai from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. The funeral and last rites will be held at Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium and Hindu Cemetery, next to Pawan Hans, from 3:30 pm to 5 pm.

The body of late actor Sridevi has now reached the Dubai airport and is expected to reach Mumbai by late evening, reports ANI. According to embalming certificate Sridevi’s body has been sealed in a suitable coffin and is in a fit condition to travel by air or sea.

As per the latest reports embalming of Sridevi’s mortal remains has been completed and the mortal remains are now being taken to Dubai Airport. The body is expected to reach Mumbai later in the night.

The Dubai police handed over the letters for the release of Bollywood diva Sridevi’s body to the Indian mission here and her family for embalming, Consulate General of India said. The Dubai police in a series of tweets said that the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Emirate of Dubai has decided to hand over the body of Indian actress Sridevi Kapoor to her relatives on Tuesday after the investigation of her death and the closure of the incident.

Also according to the medical reports it is confirmed that the actress died because of drowning, the tweet of the official handle of the media office which was retweeted by Dubai police Twitter handle said that the medical report showed that the death of Indian actress Sridevi Kapoor came as a result of her drowning in her hotel room after losing consciousness.

As per Asianet report, injury marks have been found on Sridevi’s body. Reports are also stating that CCTV footage from the hotel is being examined. According to CNN News 18, Kapoor family has been given clearance letter. The late actor’s embalming process will begin now, states Khaleej Times.

As per recent reports, no official update on the permissions required for repatriation of Sridevi’s body. According to Khaleej Times there is no confirmation regarding the time it would take to flow back her body. Moreover, two members from Sridevi’s family and three representatives from the Indian Consulate in Dubai were spotted at the station.

Actor Arjun Kapoor has flown to Dubai to join his father Boney Kapoor who is already in Dubai. Reportedly, Boney Kapoor has been completing formalities in Dubai to bring Sridevi’s body back to Mumbai.

As per previous reports, Indian Consulate officials and family members of Boney Kapoor and Sridevi were currently waiting to receive a clearance letter from the Dubai Public Prosecution. While speaking to Khaleej Times, officials at Indian Consulate stated that the Dubai Police were following a usual protocol and not delaying the process. They need to be 100 per cent sure before handing over the body to the family. Considering the highly sensitive nature of the case, Dubai Police is leaving no stone unturned to help the family, said the official.

As per earlier reports, Sridevi’s body has been kept in the mortuary as Dubai Police has moved the case to Dubai Public Prosecutor and it needs clearance before being taken to the embalming unit in Muhaisna.

Moreover, the earlier stories of Dubai Police interrogating husband Boney Kapoor in connection with the case were false. According to Khaleej Times, as per standard police investigation procedures, director and husband of the late Sridevi, Boney Kapoor, had only provided his testimony on Sunday morning. The conversation between police and the director took place when her body was discovered at Jumeirah Emirates Tower Hotel on the night of her death.

The sources in Dubai Police told Khaleej Times that all media reports are regarding further questioning are baseless. In fact, Boney Kapoor was not called by the police on Monday for further interrogation, Khaleej Times reports stated. Reportedly, Boney Kapoor is the first person who saw Sridevi drowned in a bathtub in an unconscious condition.

Earlier, Gulf News reported that Dubai Police called in Boney Kapoor to Bur Dubai police station for investigation. Police took his statement after which he was allowed to go back to his hotel room. Dubai government’s media office had also said on Twitter, “Dubai police headquarters today stated that the death of the Indian actress Sridevi occurred due to drowning in her hotel apartment’s bathtub following loss of consciousness.(sic)”

According to Dubai forensic department’s report, Bollywood actor Sridevi, who passed away at the age of 54 on Saturday, died due to drowning in her room apartment 2201 Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel after losing consciousness. Dubai Police in a tweet confirmed that the cause of actress Sridevi’s death as accidental drowning. They posted a series of updates on the same.

Sridevi was in Dubai to attend her nephew-actor Mohit Marwah’s wedding with her family. Right now, everyone is waiting for Sridevi’s mortal remains to come in Mumbai where the last rituals will be conducted. So far, celebrities and fans have been flocking to the Mumbai residence of Anil Kapoor, brother-in-law to the actress. Actress Madhuri Dixit, director Karan Johar, designer Manish Malhotra, actress Tabu, filmmaker Farah Khan, choreographer Saroj Khan, actor Farhan Akhtar, along with mother Honey Irani, were seen visiting the family.
