Haryana Government has decided to exempt property tax to the landlords of residential properties of villages falling under the Municipal Corporation, Sonipat, for two year upto 2020 and villages falling under the other Corporations of the State for another one year upto 2019.
Announcing this, Urban Local Bodies Minister, Kavita Jain said that Chief Minister Manohar Lal has approved this proposal. This decision will benefit lakhs of people residing in the villages falling within the limits of Municipal Corportations in the state, she said.
Jain said that a departmental proposal was sent to the Chief Minister to provide relief to the citizens of the villages included in municipal corporations. She said that emphasis was being laid on strengthening the basic amenities like lanes, community centres, parks, public toilets, and street lights in all villages falling under Municipal Corporations.
Under AMRUT Yojana also, many works including, drinking water supply, sewerage, environment, transport and others have been initiated in 20 cities of the state. Of which, works of Rs 750 crore were being done in three cities, while estimates of other cities were being prepared on a fast pace, she added.
