It’s still Xi

China, the land that embraced Marxist ideology, appears all set to revive the personality cult of the “one and only” Chairman Mao Zedong by clearing the decks for President Xi Jinping’s third consecutive term (“CPC clears the decks for third term for Xi”, February 26).

Of course, the change of format in governance is an internal matter of a sovereign nation-state and others have no say over it. But is China falling victim to megalomania?
