Continuing its winning streak in Punjab, the Congress on Tuesday wrested control of the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation from the BJP-SAD alliance. The party won in as many as 62 wards, reducing the SAD-BJP combine to merely 21 wards. SAD and BJP were relegated to second and third position, with 11 and 10 wards, winning respectively.

The voting, which was held on Saturday, saw clashes between the Congress and Opposition party workers amid allegations of booth capturing. As many as 494 candidates were in the fray for a total of 95 wards.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Election Commission had ordered repolling in two booths of wards number 44 on account of bogus voting and booth capturing. Re-polling was held in booth numbers 2 and 3 of ward number 44 from 8 am to 4 pm Monday.

Hope this is the beginning of the end of a draconian government headed by an uneducated but terribly coky"Don Quixote" the centre.

No dear F. P ., they have tactically excluded पंजाब to show-vase a precedence as a proof that EVMs are not hacked in any polling elsewhere in the country. They have been successfully to give this impression receivingntly in Rajasthan by giving Congress 77 seats. They will do their real in 2019.
